Cardiff expecting £45m payday From Real Madrid and Juventus final

That is how much economists reckon tonight’s final between Real Madrid and Juventus will bring to the Welsh capital.

Up to 170,000 supporters are expected to flock to the city to watch the game live at the National Stadium or on TV in bars nearby.

It’s the largest sporting event ever staged in Wales and the single biggest anywhere in the world this year.

It is expected to attract a global TV audience of 200million across 200 countries – twice that of the US gridiron Super Bowl.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Real hope to become the first team. to retain the trophy after winning it last year in a penalty shootout against local rivals Atletico Madrid.
